Call for Candidates
Theatre Forum CLG, trading as Performing Arts Forum, is inviting candidates to stand for election for board positions at the company’s upcoming AGM on Friday 26 September 2025, when three of the Board’s current Directors will retire in accordance with our Constitution.
If you are interested in guiding our strategic development and leading change in the professional performing arts sector, we encourage you to stand for election. We are looking for candidates who want to help make our sector and our membership organisation stronger and more inclusive for future generations of artists, arts workers, and audiences.
Nominations are welcome from all member categories – producers, artists, freelancers, artistic directors, company directors, festival directors, and venue directors – as well as any professional working in or with arts organisations.
Performing Arts Forum is committed to promoting the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion and integrating them into its structures, actions and culture and we positively encourage applications from all sections of the community. You can read our EDI policy here.
While proposers must be paid-up members, candidates themselves do not have to be members, though they should, of course, agree to the nomination.
AÂ retiring director shall be eligible for re-election for a further term or terms of office which, when aggregated with the terms already served, shall not exceed six years, provided however that when a year has elapsed from the date of retirement of a director, he or she shall be eligible for election afresh, and the calculation of his or her term of office for the purpose of this article shall commence afresh.
The role
The company is a registered charity, so all Board Director positions are voluntary and unremunerated, though travel expenses are paid. Experience of serving on a board is not essential, as an induction will be provided and Safe to Create board training is available to all board members. The Board meets up to a maximum of eight times a year, with some additional working group meetings and planning days. Online attendance at meetings is facilitated.
You can consult the Constitution for company and governance information.
