I’m directing a 25 minute play for the Scene + Heard Festival and I’m in search of a lighting designer. Our performances are Feb 19-20th at 6:30pm, our tech rehearsal is not yet scheduled by the festival. The pay is €500 and the script is ready to be shared as soon as an agreement is reached. I would need 2 design meetings (online is ok), tech rehearsal, and board operation at both shows.

The Ninefold Spiral journeys through the emotional highs and lows of struggling actor Raj’s nascent career as he navigates life in Delhi. The play will follow the actor’s trajectory through success and failure and what both mean for the relationships in his life. The piece is a fusion of theatre styles, bleding Rasa Theory of The Natyashastra tradition (which maps nine core human emotions) and Stanislavski’s Emotional Memory (which roots performance in lived experience). Each scene is themed on a different rasa – love, laughter, anger, sorrow, and tranquillity – and the transitions between scenes are illustrated through a fusion of Bharatanatyam dance and western hip hop.
