Job Title: Operations & Finance Executive

Role Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations & Finance Executive is responsible for the organisation’s operational and financial functions, supporting strong governance, effective financial controls, efficient operations, and high-quality delivery across all areas of activity of the Briery Gap. Key Responsibilities

  • Operations
  • Provide comprehensive operational and administrative support to the General Manager.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain assigned operational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, organised records to ensure transparent compliance with legal, licensing, charity regulator, insurance, and regulatory requirements, ensuring necessary returns are completed.
  • Draft, manage, and file contracts for productions, services, and suppliers, ensuring clear and consistent recording systems.
  • Manage ticketing systems, box office operations, customer service, access control, and weekly reporting of sales and attendance figures.
  • Supervise front-of-house, box office, bar, hospitality staff, and volunteers including organising rotas and training.
  • Manage venue operations including maintenance, contractors, stock control, IT support services, and supplier relationships.
  • Assume the role of Duty Manager for events required.
  • Ensure full compliance with IMRO, theatre and bar licensing, health & safety, and other statutory obligations.
  • Maintain ownership of the relevant aspect of the Briery Gap risk register and prepare risk reports for the Board.
  • Refining and developing internal policies
  • Monitor funding opportunities and prepare grant applications.
    Finance
  • Maintain accurate books of account and ensure robust financial systems to support effective financial control and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and cashflow forecasts.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll administration, and cash handling, reconciliation, and lodgements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard the Briery Gap.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the General Manager and Board when required.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors to ensure smooth and compliant annual audit processes.
  • Support grant financial reporting and compliance requirements.
  • You will also be responsible for any additional duties related to operations and finance as assigned by the General Manager.

Candidate Specification

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an operations/finance/business management role, ideally within the arts or comparable sector.
  • Experience overseeing operational systems including staffing, scheduling, facilities, and customer-facing services.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, and experience with generating reports.
  • Demonstrable understanding of governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and accountability when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required.

Salary
€37,000 – €42,000 depending on experience.

Contract
3 years, full-time.
