WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

I am the writer/director of a play that had a successful run in the Dublin area and is now seeking grant funding for a tour. We’re currently developing a touring strategy for an independent theatre project and we are looking for a producer who is familiar with and excited by:

  • Touring and festival strategy
  • arts funding and partnerships
  • independent theatre development
  • building momentum around an existing production

ABOUT THE SHOW

Lines of Exile is a new 65 minute drama set in 1950 Lahore, Pakistan, during the final transfers of psychiatric patients following the Partition of India. A man with schizophrenia struggles to comprehend why he is being uprooted and sent to a new facility in Amritsar — and why the country itself has been divided. His psychiatrist, an Irish doctor from Belfast, tries to guide him through the confusion, even as he recognises echoes of his own homeland’s partition. Exploring mental health, displacement, and shared histories of colonial division, Lines of Exile bridges the emotional landscapes of Ireland and India, offering a deeply human perspective on trauma, care, and belonging.

Audience feedback found the show: “powerful”, “moving”, and “thought-provoking.”

Target audiences are those whose lives have been touched by partition, Indians, Pakistani, Irish; and those interested in migration, societal trauma, and social cohesion.

ARE YOU A GOOD FIT?

This is an opportunity to join a live project with a proven production already behind it and help shape its next chapter. We are based in Dublin, with plans to tour beyond the city. If this sounds like your kind of project — or you know someone it might suit — send me a message, to Leah Flowers landofblueflowers@gmail.com
