This Board Governance training workshop is tailored towards artists, creatives and arts workers who are new or existing board members looking to strengthen their role on the Board.

This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the role and duties of not-for-profit board members/directors, and governance best practice. Through real-world case studies and interactive discussion, this course empowers you to understand your responsibilities as a board member.

The course covers:  

the roles and responsibilities of charity trustees/board directors under Company Law and Charity Law;
board meetings;
board papers;
reviewing the board;
board relationships;
conflicts of interest;
governance and management;
and the Charities Governance Code.
