WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This workshop is designed specifically for those working with companies and organisations who employ artists; hiring managers and senior leadership within the arts and creative sectors.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

This workshop aims to create the conditions so that artists from a migrant background can participate at all levels within the sector, equipping arts organisations with the essential knowledge and practical skills to employ and support these individuals in their organisations, enriching our cultural landscape in a safe and informed way.

This is an empowering workshop designed to create a thriving environment where artists from migrant backgrounds can be supported at every level within the arts sector.

The workshop will include:

Setting the Context: Understand the importance of hiring artists from diverse backgrounds and how it enriches our culture. Learn about the systems and resources needed to employ these individuals and remove structural barriers to their participation in the sector.
Expert Input: Hear from legal experts on navigating the employment permit and immigration systems.
Practical Advice: Practical tips on applying for work permits, avoiding common pitfalls, and ensuring proper follow-up.
Open Discussion: Engage in a dynamic discussion on specific issues for arts organisations, with prompt questions to guide the conversation.
