Arts Council Theatre Sector Consultation – Registration Now Open
The Arts Council is inviting theatre practitioners to take part in an upcoming Theatre Sector Consultation.
As part of an ongoing review of the Arts Councils approach to supporting the Theatre sector, they are seeking insights from practitioners working across the sector.
These consultations will be based on the feedback from a sector-wide survey which took place in the first half of this year.
The consultations will take place in Limerick, Dublin, Sligo and Cork. You can register your interest for one in-person event by clicking on the link below.
For anyone unable to attend one of the in-person events there will be an online event. You can register here.
Each session will be independently facilitated and will begin with a short presentation on research findings to date, followed by World Café–style discussions.
World Café sessions involve facilitated small group conversations, where participants are invited to explore key questions together in a structured and supportive environment. No advance preparation is required.
Following each consultation, the Theatre team will host a general funding clinic, on the funding opportunities currently available to theatre artists which will last about an hour providing an opportunity for questions and answers.
The Arts Council is committed to making these consultations as accessible and inclusive as possible. World Café discussions are facilitated, take place in small groups, and allow for different ways of contributing, including listening, note-sharing and speaking at your own pace.
If you have specific access requirements or would like to discuss how the format can work best for you, please contact theatre@artscouncil.ie.
These consultations form part of a wider, time-bound process being undertaken on by the Arts Council. This is one element of a multi-layered process with a view to refreshing the approach to how the Arts Council supports Theatre.
The Arts Council is committed to progressing this work with care, transparency and momentum.
