Drama League of Ireland (DLI) Summer School Bursary Award 2026
Kildare County Council Arts Service invites applications to the Drama League of Ireland (DLI) Summer School Bursary Award 2026. The week-long DLI Summer School takes place in Limerick annually and this year will run from 1st – 8th August 2026. Each year Kildare County Council Arts Service supports a number of Summer School participants with a bursary towards the costs to attend and participate.
The Drama League of Ireland (DLI) Summer School Bursary Award is open to applications from individual theatre/drama practitioners from or currently residing in county Kildare. The bursary is aimed at people who would not normally attend the Summer School due to financial circumstances, or perhaps as an emerging artist who is deemed to have potential in a particular field, or other reasons.
The bursary will cover course fees, including tuition, single room en-suite accommodation, meals and social programme. The bursary does not include travel expenses and candidates must make their own travel arrangements.
The categories of courses offered by the Drama League of Ireland Summer School are as follows (applicants will need to specify on their application which course they are applying for):
Acting course for beginners/improvers
Acting course for experienced actors
Directing course for beginners/improvers
Directing course for experienced directors
Course in stage movement
A specialised course focused on a particular style of acting, or the works of a particular playwright or genre.
More information will be published about the DLI Summer School 2026 once confirmed. Further details about the DLI can be found on www.dli.ie or Tel: 01 296 9343.
