Cork’s First-Ever Long-Form Improv Intensive Arrives January 2026
A 5-Day Creative Training Experience at Dance Cork Firkin Crane

Cork will host its first dedicated long-form improvisation intensive this January.

Giving performers, creatives, and comedy lovers the chance to explore the storytelling style made famous in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago.

The Long-Form Improv Intensive runs from 5th–9th January 2026 at Dance Cork Firkin Crane.
Led by Irish improviser and writer Eoin O’Sullivan, who returns home from Copenhagento teach this special workshop.

Long-form improvisation—known for its rich characters, ensemble-driven storytelling, and spontaneous comedic discovery has exploded in popularity worldwide.
This intensive offers Cork’s creative community a rare opportunity to train deeply in a style that blends theatre, comedy, and collaborative storytelling.

About the Intensive

Running daily from 10:00–14:30, the course blends:

  • Unscripted storytelling
  • Character creation
  • Ensemble chemistry
  • Scene work
  • Modern long-form improv techniques

It is designed for actors, stand-ups, performers, students, writers, and anyone ready to dive into an energetic, challenging creative experience.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Build bold, grounded characters
  • Discover and heighten the “game” of a scene
  • Create connected, story-driven long-form pieces
  • Strengthen ensemble awareness and collaboration
  • Improve confidence, communication, and public speaking
  • Think quickly and creatively on stage and in everyday life

About the Instructor

The intensive is taught by Eoin O’Sullivan, an Irish improviser originally from West Cork. Over the past decade. Eoin has performed and taught internationally across Australia, Europe.

Now based in Copenhagen he works across sharp, narrative-focused long-form formats as well as surreal and playful TwoProv. Eoin has performed alongside improvisers from UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade) and The Second City, bringing a global perspective to his teaching.
